Fishing in Quepos is generally good year-round. Certain times of the year different species of fish are here in stronger numbers than others.

Yes. Costa Rica requires that all passengers on board a fishing charter boat, purchase and carry a valid Costa Rica fishing license wether you intend to fish or not.

You will be required to purchase your Costa Rica fishing license from the INCOPESCA agent located at the dock entrance on the morning of your first day of fishing.

The cost is $17.00/pp and is payable in Cash USD only. The license is valid for one week from date of purchase.

We suggest you bring the following items for your day at sea with us:

• Light clothing- shorts, t-shirt, light sole sneakers or boat shoes
• Sunglasses, hat, sunblock 50+ SPF or higher.
• Small hand towel and one or two bath towels
• Cash USD for crew gratuity at the end of your trip (15-20% is customary)
• A big smile and positive attitude ( the fish are attracted to it) 

No. Tip/Gratuity is NOT included in the price of your fishing charter.

A minimum of 15%-20% per day is customary. 20% is normal. Under no circumstances should tipping be based on how many fish you catch. If your Captain and crew work hard at finding the fish, make multiple moves, change bait presentations, service your needs, and the bite is just plain slow, they are certainly not to blame. 

Our Captains know and respect that your expectations are high as soon as you get on board, and will work hard to deliver you a trophy day on the water. They want you to catch fish just as badly as you want to,  however fishing will always be fishing, and if the fish don’t want to bite, they won’t.

We are fortunate to have many more successful days on the water here than not, but like anywhere in the world you fish, slow days happen. Please don’t fault your Captain & Crew for it.

Feel free to ask us for any other feature or VIP service you and your group wish to enjoy.

All edible species you catch such as Mahi-Mahi, Yellowfin Tuna and Wahoo, are yours to keep! Your mates will fillet, clean and bag your fish for you to take back to your vacation rental home/condo or hotel. You may cook it yourselves or bring it to one of the restaurants at the Marina that offers a delicious” Cook your Catch” deal.

All Billfish species ( Sailfish & Marlin)  will be live released at the side of the boat after you have a chance to lean over the side and take a photo with the fish, We do NOT kill or harvest billfish.
