Fishing Summary & Analysis
Fishing in Quepos, Costa Rica, has been absolutely legendary lately! Over the last two weeks, Marina Pez Vela has seen some of the most “fantastic numbers” Jerry has ever shared, largely thanks to two major recent tournaments. While inshore anglers stayed busy with 45 roosterfish and 27 snapper, the offshore action was the real showstopper.
Hold onto your hats: the docks recorded a staggering 3,098 sailfish releases and a tournament record-breaking 187 lb yellowfin tuna. The undisputed stars of the season were Team “Pura Vida,” who achieved an exceptional sweep of multiple championships, including the Rockstar, Bisbee, and the Offshore World Championship. Individual talent shone brightly too, with top anglers like Eileen Gonzalez and Miss Erica, the latter of whom personally released 28 sailfish in a single event.
If you missed this wave of excitement, don’t worry! Snook are expected to start biting soon, and the family-friendly “Tuna Thunder” tournament is coming up on June 27th. It’s a low-cost, high-fun event perfect for getting your friends and family out on the water.
